The amazing Macer noodle

So, the weather has sucked almost as bad as 3 am baby feedings. A couple weeks ago I was building a fence, not to keep in the dogs. No, this fence is to keep the roving bandit we call our daughter penned in. Anything not nailed down is fair game. We snapped a couple of pics of Mommys little monster.

Tonight she was being a clown at dinner so I shot some video. In the second video she demonstrates talking on the phone, her monkey noises, and singing.

The Saddest Dog

The Birthday Party

Well, I used to make fun of my friends who put on 1st birthday parties. I mean really, does the little kid know? No, as I found out, they don't nor do they care. Oh but I have figured out why it's done. The first birthday serves two purposes; one to celebrate your and the child's survival of the first year of life, sometimes a dicey thing, and two to see and hang out with adults. Living rural as we do and having an infant can be a little solitary. You begin to feel that babbling is an appropriate response in a conversation and sitting on the floor is normal for a grown up (little hint, it's not thats why it hurts to get up).

The Smash Cake

This look says 'are you serious, it's all mine?'

So for my 40th I want to eat cake the same way!

The Birthday Girl

First thing in the mornin Mom and I walked into Macs room singing Happy Birthday. She had a look on her face that said finally they get it.

Then Mom and I took her to the Zoo. The late Feb weather was great, a real treat. I'm pretty sure I was the most excited of the three but Mac soon came around. She really seems to enjoy the animals.

Fresno Zoo is great. They have openings down low so the little ones get a good view.

We got there right at feeding time. The trainer brought the sea lion right up to Mac. She was really excited.

You don't see these just anywhere!

We treated ourselves to a zoo membership. I'm a bit of a zoo geek and really recommend it.
